Why We Are Here
Purpose grows out of core values and is the fundamental reason an organization or team exists. Like a guiding star we are always heading toward it but never fully reach it. The following is how we state the purpose or mission of Grace Presbyterian Church (GPC):
Grace Presbyterian Church exists
to focus attention on God’s grace
as He transforms us into a community
that delights in his worship,
is marked by selfless care for others,
and proclaims the gospel of Jesus Christ
with gospel-transformed words, relationships, vocations, and lifestyles, resulting in the transformation of the communities of the Triad and the world.
Here at Grace, we long to see the grace of God magnified as he transforms us into: a community that worships, a community that witnesses, and a community that walks in love.
The Beginnings of Grace
In 1994, a few families, singles and students from Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Winston-Salem began meeting in Kernersville to plant a new church. Two years later, Grace was constituted in the Presbyterian Church of America – a denomination who spiritual roots are found in the Protestant Reformation.
Grace has since grown into a church body of about 200 people and is now assisting in other church plants in the Triad. Our church attenders come to Grace from all over the Triad and are from many different denominiational backgrounds. We would like to invite you to come and grow in the grace of Jesus Christ at Grace Presbyterian Church.
